Ryan Family Amusements has been a leader in family-friendly entertainment since its inception in 1968, when James A. Ryan opened an eight-lane bowling alley in Needham, Massachusetts. Over the years, the business has evolved from a single bowling venue to 10 locations and more than a dozen route partners across New England, offering a mix of traditional and innovative gaming options. Ryan’s has established itself as New England’s most trusted and well-known family entertainment operator.
Ryan’s has experienced significant growth over the last five years alone, including the opening of a 40,000 square-foot venue just outside of Boston and the enhancement of existing locations with new attractions like axe throwing and airparks.

In my role at Intercard I have had the pleasure of working with the Ryan’s team one-on-one since 2011. Even though it took me a while to convince them to stop using paper tickets, much like most operators back then, they fully embraced a more data-driven approach to operations.
I do card system forensic investigations for operators regularly, and I always find some good, bad, and ugly in100% of them. I was happy when Ryan’s asked me to perform an evaluation for the company. While there were a few items with which everyone seems to have some degree of trouble, overall I found very little to be concerned about. There were far more good things to recognize. It was not only obvious they have people on their team that know what they are doing, but also know how to use the card system to full potential. The best part is they apply what they learn. Many operators can find issues, but rarely address them.
